Artist, Yang Gang was born in He'Nan Province , China in 1946. He is a National First Grade Artist.

In 1978, Yang Gang entered the Master's Program in Chinese painting at the Central Academy of Fine Arts. After his graduated from the Academy in 1981, he worked as a senior Artist at the Beijing Academy of Fine Arts.

Yang Gang's paintings were selected to participate in many International Art Exhibitions :-

1993 : Solo Exhibition, Hong Kong.
1994 : Beijing Museum of Art,China.
1994 : Lecture Tour to UCLA, Berkeley, USA.

1996 : 20th Century Chinese Painting-Tradition and Innovation, British Museum, UK.
1996 : Solo Art Exhibition at Beijing Art Museum, China.
