Zhang Ming Jun was born in 1951. He is an artist of Qilu Academy of Painting and Calligraphy, Vice Secretary of the Yantai Branch of the Academy. He is also President of the Painting and Calligraphy Society of Yantai Harbor of Shandong Province.

Zhang Ming Jun is specially good in painting horses and figures. Especially due to his personal liking toward the painting of horses, he even visited the inner part of Mongolia and Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, spent very long time in watching the horses and studied the habit and characteristic of horses. He has therefore created his style of painting the horse that is so different from other artists. His paintings of horses are widely accepted among the collectors in China as well as abroad.
