Fang Chu Xiong was born in 1950 in Guangdong Province, China. He started learning of Chinese Brush painting at his young age of 6. Even at his teen-age, his art works were published in the National newspapers and magazines and, was selected as one of a very few young artists to participate in the International art exhibitions in the former West Germany, Hungary and Japan. He started the intensive study of painting in the Guangzhou College of Art in 1975. After his graduation in 1978, he was appointed as the lecturer in the same College.

In 1980, Fang Chu Xiong held his Solo Art Exhibition in Australia. In 1982, he was invited to hold a Solo Art Exhibition in Singapore. Due to the overwhelming response from the Singapore Collectors, another Fang Chu Xiong Solo Art Exhibition was held in Singapore in 1988.

The paintings of Fang Chu Xiong are widely collected by National and International art museums. He has also won numerous awards in the international art exhibitions in Japan, Taiwan, Canada and Hong Kong.

Fang Chu Xiong is presently the Professor in the Guangzhou College of Art. He is also a member of the Artists Association of China.
