Artist, Fang Xiang was born in 1967 in Shantou City, Guangdong Province, China. He graduated from the Traditional Chinese Painting Department of the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts in 1988.

In 1994, he held his Solo Art Exhibition in Guangzhou and participated in the Korean exhibition "Sino-Korean Art Exchange".

Many of his works were selected to several art exhibitions. Including exhibited in Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore.

In 1999 "The Harvest Year" was nominated to The Silver Award at the 9th National Chinese Fine Arts Competition and the Gold Medal for the Guangdong 9th National Chinese Fine Arts Competition. His main published works include "Treasures of Contemporary Chinese Painting-Paintings Album of Fang Xiang", "selected paintings by Fang Xiang" and "Painting Album of Fang Xiang".

Fang Xiang is presently an artist of Guangdong Academy of Fine Arts. He is a member of the Council of Guangdong Artists Association and a member of the Artists Association of China.
