Artist Fang Kun was born in 1953 in Guizhou Province, China. He studied at The Institute of China Arts, Beijing.

He is presently a member of the Artists Association of China. A Committee member of the Chinese Artists Association, Guizhou province, China and a Committee member of the Calligraphers' Association of Guizhou province. He is also a chairman of the Artists Association, Liupanshui City, China.
