Artist Zhong Ru Qian was born in 1950 in Hubei Province, China. He graduated from the People's Liberation Army Art Institute. Since 1972, many of his paintings were featured art publications on Chinese Paintings. In 1977, he worked as a professional artist in the army.

He has participated in many major national exhibitions and seminars. His works were selected for the 6th , 7th & 8th National Art Exhibitions in China and won a Bronze medal in the 7th National Art Exhibition.

He is now an art professor, a member of China Artists' Association and a National First Grade Artist. He is also a Vice-President of the Hubei Academy of Fine Arts.
